Santa Barbara de Samana


Capital of the province, Santa Barbara boasts a splendid geography, nestled between smooth green hills and the precious Samana Bay. Upon arrival, visitors notice the famous Cayo Levantado, a small barren island surrounded by tranquil turquoise waters, which contrast with the white sand border.

The main eco-tourist attractions include humpback whale-watching, and excursions to Los Haitises National Park for bird-watching and cave kayaking.



Recent interest from important investors has revitalized the town. There are three newly renovated luxury hotels of Gran Bahia Principe; one in Cayo Levantado, a seaside shopping center, a marina and port project… not to mention the many real estate opportunities to build houses, villas, apartments, shops and commercial centers.

Capital de la provincia, Santa Bárbara cuenta con una geografía espléndida, situada entre suaves colinas verdes y la preciosa Bahía de Samaná. A su llegada, los visitantes observan el famoso Cayo Levantado, un isloterodeado por las aguas turquesas, que contrastan con la frontera de arena blanca.

Las principales atracciones turísticas, incluyen la observación de la ballena jorobada, y excursiones al Parque Nacional Los Haitises en la observación de aves y kayak de la cueva.



El reciente interés de inversionistas importantes ha revitalizado la ciudad.
